CVSS is a standardised method for assessing security vulnerabilities which provides\u00a0a base score between 0.0 and 10.0, where 10.0 represents the most severe vulnerability.<\/p>\n<p>This Oracle Critical Patch Update includes seven new security fixes for Oracle\u00a0Database impacting the below versions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oracle Database Server 11.1.0.7<\/li>\n<li>Oracle Database Server 11.2.0.3<\/li>\n<li>Oracle Database Server 11.2.0.4<\/li>\n<li>Oracle Database Server 12.1.0.1<\/li>\n<li>Oracle Database Server 12.1.0.2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Oracle Database Server components affected by vulnerabilities that are fixed in this Critical Patch Update are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Database Scheduler: 9.0 CVSS Score<\/li>\n<li>Java VM: 6.5 &#8211; 9.0 \u00a0(3 vulnerabilities, 2 of which only affect Windows based systems)<\/li>\n<li>Portable Clusterware: 10.0 (!)<\/li>\n<li>RDBMS (12c only): 5.5<\/li>\n<li>XDB &#8211; XML Database: 6.5<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Portable Cluserware vulnerability carries the highest 10.0 rating mainly due to the fact that it can be remotely exploited without authentication.
